Honoring 10 Years of Zach Sobiech’s Song “Clouds”
Ten years ago, Zach Sobiech shared his song with the world and brought awareness to the need for better osteosarcoma treatments. Because of Zach, his family, friends and those of you who continue to help us in his mission, researchers are making groundbreaking discoveries about how to more effectively treat osteosarcoma. Throughout the last ten years, the Zach Sobiech Osteosarcoma Fund has supported:
8 Seed Grants
Promising researchers often struggle to get funding to study rare diseases like osteosarcoma, but Zach’s Fund has helped bridge that gap by funding eight potentially groundbreaking projects.
A National Clinical Trial
Five years after Zach’s passing, researcher Branden Moriarty opened a clinical trial to test a new drug to treat osteosarcoma.
An Impact Investment
Zach’s Fund made it possible for CCRF to fund an impact investment in OS Therapies and Oncoheroes Biosciences.
A Powerful New Drug
Alex Huang, MD, PhD, at Case Western University, has searched unceasingly for readily available drug options that could cure osteosarcoma in its deadliest form. Huang recently found a new drug in which he believes could become a widely used therapy.
Today, 100% of every dollar donated to the Zach Sobiech Osteosarcoma Fund goes directly to osteosarcoma research for better treatments and cures. A special thank you to the Sobiech Family, KS95, SPIRE Credit Union, Wayfarer Foundation and the countless fundraisers and donors for their steadfast support and dedication to continue Zach’s legacy.
“I want to be remembered as the kid who went down fighting and didn’t really lose.”
