Communications Content Manager

The Communications Content Manager is responsible for developing content strategies aligned with Children’s Cancer Research Fund’s business objectives and managing the gathering and creation of communications content. Working cross-departmentally and with external partners, the Communications Content Manager meets these goals through an understanding of our audience’s needs and channels, informed by analytics. This role will organize and manage projects and campaigns across internal teams. This person is responsible for identifying all the tasks that need to be completed within a marketing project or campaign and coordinating the completion and execution of these items.

This position is remote and open to anyone working within the United States. Travel may be required 1-3 times a year.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Work proactively across CCRF to understand organization-wide and department goals, identify content needs and develop plans to meet them.
  • Develop an understanding of our key audiences and create or direct the creation of content that regularly speaks to their needs and interests.
  • Analyze content performance to grow our understanding of what audiences are responding to and determine improvements to increase engagement.
  • Manage outside communications vendor and contractor relationships.
  • In partnership with the Associate Director of Digital, participate in website content audits to identify content gaps and copy that should be updated or retired.
  • Serve in an editor role for freelance writers, assigning out projects and ensuring adherence to CCRF’s brand standards.
  • Build and maintain a network of freelance writers and photographers to take on projects regularly and reliably.
  • Develop and maintain a formal CCRF content style guide for use internally and to distribute to freelancers and vendors.
  • Works with interdepartmental teams to complete assigned projects on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conducts project and workload risk assessments; reports identified risks to management; provides recommendations for mitigation of risk (including termination of projects if appropriate).
  • Addresses questions, concerns and/or complaints throughout the project.
  • Offers general logistical support to direct marketing and other related initiatives as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years of marketing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Non-profit marketing
  • Event Communications

Pay:

  • $80,000
  • This role is non-exempt (you will be paid overtime for any work over 40 hours in a work-week)
  • This position is full-time
