The Research

Through your support, we made great strides in the fight against rare leukemia in 2022.

Together, we raised an incredible $270,000 through the Race Against Rare Leukemia campaign, allowing Dr. Soheil Meshinchi to develop a treatment where none had existed before. Ella, who is currently cancer-free but at risk of relapse, and other children like her now have a lifesaving treatment avenue. Thanks to the inspiring stories of Ella and Stella, donors at the Forbes/SHOOK Top Advisor Summit contributed an additional $945,707 to support the next step in this groundbreaking research: a Phase I clinical trial. Thanks to your generosity, families will be able to receive this treatment free of charge, ensuring that no child is denied care because of their financial circumstances.

“Because of the support from foundations and families, we've been able to really bring this from target discovery to a treatment that's on the verge of going into clinical trial in record time.” - Dr. Soheil Meshinchi

Your Engagement

Ten years ago, Zach Sobiech’s family attended the first-ever “Clouds Choir,” singing Zach’s hit song “Clouds” to raise money for osteosarcoma research in his memory. When Zach knew he was dying of osteosarcoma, he wanted to be a part of creating better treatments so other kids wouldn’t have to go through what he was going through. He and his family established the Zach Sobiech Osteosarcoma Fund. In 2022, we celebrated 10 years of Clouds Choir and over $3 million raised for osteosarcoma research. Zach’s legacy continues to live on thanks to incredible supporters like you and our generous partners KS95 and Mall of America.
