Development Coordinator

Summary/objective:

The Development Coordinator’s role is to support the development team’s fundraising efforts through coordinating portfolio management, supporting stewardship efforts, fundraising campaigns, special events, and other development initiatives at Children's Cancer Research Fund. We are a national nonprofit dedicated to ending childhood cancer. Our main focus is to support the research of bright scientists across the country whose ideas can make the greatest impact for children fighting cancer. We also fund resources and programs that help kids and families as they navigate the difficult experience of cancer treatment and survivorship.

This role is hybrid and is expected to be in the office once a week, while working remote the other four days. This role will also require some time at events which occur over the weekend.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Assist in developing and maintaining healthy donor data portfolios to support fundraising
  • Develop prospect pools, collaborate with gift officers to create solicitation plans for assigned donors and assist in creating gift proposals
  • Coordinate with Operations colleagues to meet the needs of the Development team related to database management
  • Serve as main point of contact for Development Team creative projects, coordinating with external vendors as needed
  • In collaboration with the Donor Relations Manager, support various stewardship efforts including birthday cards, hand-written notes, acknowledgment letters, impact reports, event invitations, etc.
  • Aid in the production and distribution of quarterly in-house mailings
  • Assist in application process for various fundraising grants
  • Partner closely with Associate Director of Development to implement social media strategy and calendar
  • Post social media content and monitor performance
  • Attend and support our events (some weekend work required)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or any combination of equivalent experience (bachelor's degree in relevant field OR four years of work experience in a relevant field OR two years of work experience with an associate's degree)
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and prioritization skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work independently yet collaboratively with multiple teams or departments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good judgment and the ability to maintain confidential information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Social Media experience
  • Non-profit fundraising experience
  • Project Management experience

Salary Range:

$50,000 - $55,000

This role is non-exempt (you will be paid overtime for any work over 40 hours in a week)
