A breakthrough year because of you

Published on January 14, 2026.

When we look back at all the good that happened last year, the first word that comes to mind is grateful – and it’s because of our incredible community of families, donors and researchers.

Together, we are changing the lives of children battling cancer, supporting their families in the process and fueling lifesaving research – bringing better, safer treatments to kids and allowing us to do more.

“More” includes:

  • 11 new grants supporting groundbreaking research aimed at developing better and safer therapies, preventing relapse and helping kids thrive after cancer.
  • A major grant to support a clinical trial testing an innovative treatment developed with CCRF support for kids with diffuse midline glioma, an aggressive brain tumor.
  • Another major grant to fund a new clinical trial using Natural Killer cells to beat relapsed AML (acute myeloid leukemia) while protecting healthy cells.
  • Building on CCRF's long investment in osteosarcoma research, we joined Break Through Cancer as it launched the largest-ever osteosarcoma research project – with the goal of transforming the way this aggressive cancer is treated.
  • Five research fellowships funded – a crucial step in transforming today's young physicians into tomorrow’s pioneers in childhood cancer care and research.
  • A record-breaking year for Camp Norden – we hosted more campers last summer than ever!

The generosity of our CCRF community is behind each scientific discovery, research advancement and meaningful experience. We have so much more to look forward to in 2026 . . . together.
