Inspired by the opportunity to improve the lives of children with cancer, Elizabeth often says that CCRF is turning heartbreak into hope. As CEO, she has shown a tireless commitment to growing the CCRF community of supporters, fueling research progress, and ensuring that bold discoveries reach the kids who need them most.

Lucie Turcotte, MD, MPH, MS – Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist

Dr. Turcotte is a pediatric hematologist/oncologist at the University of Minnesota, where she serves as Division Director of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Director of the Survivorship Program. She specializes in pediatric blood disorders and cancers, with a focus on childhood leukemias, lymphomas, and histiocytic disorders. Her research centers on survivorship, studying how cancer therapies impact children and adolescents long-term, with the goal of advancing safer, more effective treatments.

Anne Bendel, MD – Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist

Dr. Bendel is a pediatric hematologist/oncologist at Children’s Minnesota, where she serves as Director of the Neuro-Oncology Program and holds the Harper Family Foundation Endowed Chair for Cancer Research and Novel Therapies. She has dedicated her nearly 30-year career at Children’s to caring for children and young adults with central nervous system (CNS) tumors. With a deep commitment to both patient care and research, Dr. Bendel collaborates across multiple specialties and leads clinical studies to advance safer, more effective treatments. She is also an active member of national and international research groups, ensuring her patients have access to cutting-edge therapies.
