Marketing Intern

Summary/objective:

We are looking for a talented student to join the marketing and community engagement team to deepen their marketing and advertising skills.

Children’s Cancer Research Fund supports the brightest scientists whose ideas make the greatest impact for children with cancer. We also fund quality of life services that enhance healing and care. Since 1981, CCRF has given over $186 million to research, education and patient and family services.

Essential Functions:

  • Write content for advertisements, emails and promotional materials
  • Make recommendations and set up advertising campaigns
  • Support local event promotion
  • Research potential leads to support development of story pitches
  • Secure media coverage for CCRF and fundraising participants through targeted media outreach
  • Track and report press coverage and clippings

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Completed or working toward degree in marketing, advertising, public relations or related field
  • Excellent communications and writing skills, including proofreading and editing for a variety of media
  • Ability to communicate professionally with press and community contacts
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn
  • Organized with great attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills
  • Sensitivity when dealing with donor and family information
  • Social media savvy
  • Organized with great attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of marketing and advertising experience
  • Experience with Google ad words

Physical demands:

  • Sitting/standing for long periods of time
  • Minimal lifting or bending

LOCATION: Edina, MN
TYPE: Entry Level
HOURS: 10-12 hrs/week, May through September 2019
PAY: $12/hour, paid every two weeks
