Events Assistant – Temporary

Summary:

The Events Assistant is responsible for supporting the execution of CCRF’s premier Twin Cities’ event, the Dream gala. The Events Assistant will play an important role in several key aspects of the event planning, execution, and wrap-up. This role provides a great opportunity for insight and experience with non-profit event planning.

Essential functions:

  • Assist in auction coordination through entry of items in database, selecting photos, obtaining additional information, etc.
  • Participate in Committee meetings as necessary to keep notes and assist in committee member needs as delegated
  • Conduct tracking and follow-up as necessary for Gifts In-Kind, vendor payments, Table Host information, donation acknowledgment, etc.
  • Communicate as needed with key volunteers, vendors, and internal partners
  • Coordinate packing and unpacking for event day
  • Assist Volunteer Coordinator as needed with recruitment and coordination
  • Must be available for extended office hours on Friday, April 26
  • Must be available all day on site at the Armory on Saturday, April 27
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical demands:  Sitting/standing for long periods of time, minimal lifting or bending

Position type and expected hours of work:

  • Temporary
    • Estimated start date: March 25, 2019
    • Estimated end date: May 17, 2019
  • 30-40 hours/week
    • Event Week (April 22 – April 27, 2019) requires 40-60 hours/week

Travel: Minimal, within the metropolitan area

Required education and experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in events, marketing, office assistance or communications
  • Direct customer service experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred education and experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience in events, marketing, office assistance or communications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Event or program experience

Classification: Non-Exempt
