Corporate Development Officer

Summary/Objective:

The Corporate Development Officer is responsible for generating business revenue with local, regional, and national companies. This position is responsible for the overall management of several existing corporate partnerships as well as the development of new relationships. Corporate partnerships may include event sponsorship, employee engagement activities, and cause marketing activations. This position will promote existing Children’s Cancer Research Fund partnership opportunities as well as work to develop new opportunities that both address the strategic initiatives of Children’s Cancer Research Fund as well as resonate with the corporate giving community. The Corporate Development Officer will work closely with internal partners to ensure terms of partnership agreements are met.

Essential Functions:

  • Research, prospect, and establish leads for corporate relationships
  • Research and preparation of partnership proposal documents for presentations to corporate partners
  • Ability to finalize the terms of partnership agreements and secure financial commitments
  • Work closely with internal and external partners to ensure contractual fulfillment with an emphasis towards maximizing cross promotional opportunities
  • Respond to general requests regarding national program or event history
  • Prepare analytics to summarize and communicate program statistics
  • Manage budgets related to the implementation and execution of corporate partnership agreements
  • Serve as the Events & Partnerships Department representative on Children Cancer Research Fund’s Development Committee and as the liaison to the SOAR young professional committee
  • Adhere to pipeline management metrics, working to continually add new prospects to the pipeline and move prospects through the sales cycle
  • Record outreach work in designated CRM system
  • Participate in organizational events to interact with existing partners and prospects
  • Work closely with supervisor and other members of the events and partnerships team to achieve departmental goals
  • Collect revenue data and analyze trends to create recommendations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director, Events & Partnerships

      • Superior knowledge regarding the practices and principles related to the sale and implementation of corporate partnership
      • Extensive experience in support of partner programs, sponsor relations, or event planning/implementation
      • Ability to build collaborative internal and external relationships, both within the organization and in working with corporate partners

      Required education and experience:

      • Bachelor’s Degree
      • 3-5 years’ experience in business, marketing, public relations, communications or non-profit
      • Direct customer service experience
      • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

      Preferred education and experience:

      • Event or program management experience
      • Strong working knowledge of online digital and social media platforms
      • Work experience in a marketing agency, sports property, or nonprofit environment
      • Experience with Raiser’s Edge

      Supervisory responsibilities:  None

      Physical demands:  Sitting/standing for long periods of time, minimal lifting or bending

      Position type and expected hours of work:  Full-time, weekdays; occasional weekends and evenings

      Travel:  Minimal, within the Twin Cities metro region
